Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre
Another phase of an IP CCTV project for the Hilton begins shortly.
The system recommended by us includes all Pelco IP cameras including
the Spectra IV IP PTZ and Pelco’s DigitalSentry video management
software system. All video will be stored on a standard server
with RAID 5 hot plug drives. As most cameras’ distances from
the server exceed the Ethernet specifications, we will be using
Veracity Outreach™ to extend the cabling range to up to 1000
metres, without the use of expensive fibre equipment.
Airport Authority
of Trinidad & Tobago
A project for the digital upgrade of the airport’s legacy CCTV
storage system has started.
This project involves the supply, installation and configuration
of Pelco’s DigitalSentry recorders for MPEG-4 conversion of
analog video and the use of highly redundant network attached storage
(NAS) servers for video storage. |

An upgrade of the Airport’s Access control system will also take place
over the next month. This involves upgrading the current system to an IP based
solution.
Trinidad and Tobago Parliament
Two significant projects are now underway at the Houses of Parliament
in Trinidad and Tobago.
The first is a CCTV project that expands the current small scale
IP camera system to a much larger system using all Pelco equipment.
This involve the supply, installation Pelco ruggedized IP Domes and
a number of Spectra IV SE IP PTZ cameras around the Houses of Parliament.
The Pelco DigitalSentry video management software will manage all
video stored on rack mounted RAID 5 servers. The project entails
the integration of existing Sony IP cameras and all cameras except
the PTZ will be powered by PoE switches and the video collection
managed across three network nodes to minimising cable runs back
to the head end.
The second project involves the supply, design and installation of
the elegant Twinglock two leaf swing gate by Boon Edam Tomsed. These
automatic pedestrian swing gates will manage persons entering and
leaving the VIP entrance/exit. |
